DAMON self-ligating brackets are a passive self-ligating fixed orthodontic system. Unlike metal brackets, they do not use elastic bands to attach the brackets to the arch. This translates into reduced treatment time, avoidance of some tooth extractions and less frequent revisions.
The brackets without ligatures present certain differences with respect to the traditional ones. They do not need to be tightened, and therefore are delicate with teeth and tissues.
They use technology arches that move teeth faster and require fewer adjustments.
The Damon system uses a passive cap mechanism that keeps the arch inside the bracket while allowing it to move freely.
The rubber bands are replaced by a clip-shaped piece, located in the center of the bracket, so that the arch is held by the bracket
